You're not doing it right! You're supposed to sing it with a southern twang. Git out de skillet, get out de lid. Mammy's gonna make a little short'nin bread. And dat ain't all dat she's gwahnna do. shortening bread. my stepmom's mom used to sing that to her when she was little to make her feel better and she sings it to my little brother sometimes for the same reason. i hear it all the time. but i guess i wasnt the first to answer. oh well. i get 2 points tho. im happy.
