First off, I have no use for any man who would degrade a woman. If a guy has done this to you honey, write him off, and don't let him get to you, for such a lowlife piece of **** is not worth your time and energy.
Secondly, to the woman who answered and said all men act that way. Get your bias attitude in check honey! I have seen just as many women do the same thing to men, yet I don't think all women act childish. The fact that you would stereotype all of us guys into the same group says something about your mental maturity, and it is not positive.
Finally, to the question at hand. Unfortunately, some guys get some sort of an ego power trip from this sort of thing, and, quite frankly, I will be the first to say that they are a bunch of scummy bastards who do not know how to properly treat a lady. I have never degraded my wife like that, because I think highly of her, and, even when we are in the heat of our worst argument, would never want to resort to this tactic.

Well there are sooooo......many reason for that. The degradation of women is a long standing tradition in many cultures the best thing to do is to stand up for yourself and make him know that it is not the way things are done in your presence. As for fighting a necessary evil for any truly healthy male, they just need to do it in a controlled environment not on random persons. Also men......almost all men have Peter Pan syndrome and if given to go ahead by the world around them or perhaps without permission, they get out of control.

I think everyone does that to an extent, like you said they need to feel macho and they have learned to feel macho by putting other people, in this case women, down. But women do the same thing by gossiping. Everyone has a way to bring themselves up, unfortunately for lots of people they can't do that by being positive, they have to go to the negative feelings, maybe it's easier than recognizing something he/she doesn't like about himself/herself. It's not like that behavior can't be changed it's just the easiest thing to do if that's how you were brought up.

Because God was mean and put a child inside that body to decieve and play mind games with women....its just not fair! Most likely the only grown man you'll find is going to be gay or married for 30+ years....

They are still children. A real man is secure in his man hood and dose not fall to these loose tactics to downgrade women. He knows he is the man.

i admit i act like a child sumtimes but in good way, i was brought up not to trash women. seen guys do it when friends around so they fit in with the crowd tho.
