America has been a Super Power for many years, because of Their technology, and high tech weapons, most Countries have left us alone. When other Countries did attack, we were forced to fight back. Then there are the Countries that threatened to harm us. So they made agreements among various Countries stating that they would not build, buy, or posses weapons of mass destruction. Weapons that were powerful enough to reach the United States, and threaten our safety. Iraq made such an agreement. Then they broke this agreement by not allowing the Weapons Inspectors to perform their previously, mutually agreed upon, inspection, this violated the agreement. They would delay the Inspectors for days, it was all over the news. Then when the weapons were not found, at first, the word got out that we had in fact invaded Iraq for no reason. But there has been documented proof that the weapons were there, but the delay allowed Saddam to relocate them, which He laughed about to those close to Him at the time.
One of Saddam's Sons was put in charge of their Olympic athletes, who He savagely had beaten, and tortured. They showed the athletes and their stories also on television. The enormous Center that was originally built for the Olympian hopefuls was then turned into a public forum for the People of Iraq to watch public assignations, which were also broadcast on television. Saddam actually had Men on the payroll who held the title of Rapist, and they were paid to do just this. So that is enough to give You an idea, besides the fact that Woman were openly punished, by beatings for smiling in public, wearing lipstick, and could actually be killed if their husband even considered that they had been unfaithful, in fact Her family would kill Her for Him.
Apparently the general public has forgotten.

The President has put all of his credibility on the line with Iraq. If we pull out now, Iraq will be seen as a defeat and a sign of weakness, so the administration thinks anyway. To them it is a matter of national honor, or some such nonsense. For this Bush is willing to incure more dead and crippled soldiers, and thatis the price we are paying for his image and ego. There is also the matter of oil availability and future American influence in the region. But never think we went into this just to make the world safer from terrorists or safe for democracy. That is the crude they force feed their supportors so the rest of us can be called everything from unpatriotic, unAmerican, and liberal.

first and foremost, war takes time in order for it to work sometimes.
take for instance, world war II. at first, it seemed as though there wasnt any progress being made, then, after a few very well planned out invasions and attacks, we got the upper hand, but it wasnt over. we had to fight the japanese, thats when the atomic bomb was dropped.
then there was vietnam, where the us lossed, yes, we lossed the war, we retreated because of lack of support on the home front and because the war was not planned out right.
desert storm is a good example of how quick a war can be won or lost when properly planned.
unfortunatly, the iraqi war will continue until either, we win the war, or lose it. given, the death toll is still on the rise, it is a war.
and death is eminent during war, either for us or the enemy, its going to happen. in reality, we are making progress. we have captured and or killed many leaders of the enemy, including several al queda leaders and probably the worst of them all, saddam.
the threat is still there and the usa and other allied forces will not retreat until the supposed threat has been eliminated.
the war has gone on for some time now, many only see the death toll. which is very unfortunate because a lot can be gained by supporting the troops over seas and understanding they have choice as to who they fight, or why they are over there.
the allied forces will continue to fight for the freedom of other countries for as long as this country survives. the us is a compassionate and loving country over all else and will defend those who need our help.
the question shouldnt be why we cant pull out of iraq, but, what you can do to help support those who are fighting for the rights of not just this country, but for all of those who cant fight for their freedom.

President Bush said that we can't pull out of Iraq because that would be giving into the terrorists and let them think that they scare us. And that we would be dishonoring the memories of those who've died over there by not finishing the "mission." He doesn't seem to care that they never wanted to be over there in the first place and if they had a choice, they would want their fellow soldiers to leave and go home safely. We aren't leaving Iraq because President Bush has too many business interests there. He and certain members of his cabinet/congress/government/politcal party are making insane amounts of money off of this whole ordeal. How else do you explain billions of dollars in "lost" revenues? They are the ones awarding rebuilding contracts to American businesses to rebuild in Iraq. Supposedly, they give the contracts to the those who are most qualified, but in this case most qualified means companies Bush and his cronies have interests in and/or get the most money from. So the "mission" won't be accomplished until the "honorable" President Bush is out of office, more American soldiers are killed, and him and his cronies are closer to closing the rich gap between themselves and Bill Gates.

We can pull out anytime we wanted to. Simply leave. But the thing is we started the mess and we finish it. Also is that Iraq is till not strong enough to defend itself from the terrorist who are terriozing them. Bush did make a promise to clean up and he is trying his best to do so but the suicide bombers are messing it up.

Because the rich oil producers would not have a reason to raise our gas prices and the fear factor would not be there for today's government. As long as we are at war with some one the rich are getting rich off of it.

Because if we pull out, the terrorists can easily take over the country before Iran takes over. Then Iran will grow in size and become even more powerful.

How would NUT-BALL explain to the families of all the young men and women that have been slaughtered that he never should have been there to begin with. He has gone too far to turn back now, at least that's his take on this mess.

Because you can't just "get up and leave" while a country is getting back on it's feet, when you're responsible for removing said country's government.
