A complete physical every few years is always a good thing regardless of how you feel.

Most of the time you only need to see a doctor if something is wrong with you. It is better to see a doctor once in a while if you practice an unhealthy lifestyle like alcohol, drugs, fast food, or do no physical activites. For females that are sexually active it is recommended that you get a pap smear done every year. If you get sick a lot and sooner or later it goes away by itself it is better to get a check-up to be on the safe side.

I think you should have a check-up, but totally understand why you haven't. When you feel healthy, it seems like a waste of time and money to get a physical. But it is important for you to go to a doctor because you will then compile a medical history of good health. That way, if you should become ill or incur and injury at work, they cannot claim it is a pre-existing condition. Also, it is good to see a doctor in order to develop a comfortable relationship with him or her. That way if you do ever become ill, you will trust your doctor's advice and judgment.

It's not "bad", but there are reasons for having a checkup every few years. This is the time that you get to know a doctor and have a set of baseline exams done. That way, when you do get sick you have rapport with a doctor, he has a full history on you, he has something to compare test results to, and he's likely to spot things that could become worse while they're still easy for you to fix on your own...like your cholesterol.

No Matter how you feel, its better to do some checkups every while... you sometimes don't feel what's going on inside ur body....
I was feeling great, and a couple of months ago i went and made some checkups and found out i have some blood problems .

yes i think u should. do u plan to have kids? if u smoke u should. well u should n e ways at least once a year. further more u should see the gyno at least once a year. i hope u go and see the dentist. i had a friend that had cancer she did not know it but by the time she went and got checked it progressed and she died 6 months later. it would have been easilly fixed if she had her physical. it put my mother through agony to watch her die. so for the sake of ur family u should do it u never know what is lurking on the inside of ur body. take care and go get checked.

I was 23 when diagnosed with cancer. Age does not guarantee that you are healthy. You are playing a game of Russian Roulette for not having regular checkups and/or physicals.
Unfortunately our bodies are not like cars where we can go get new parts and replace them when needed.
My suggestion, see your doctor for physical.

No, a 20 year old male should be fine. however, after 40 start to have them at least every other year, and 50 every year. You won't stay young and healthy forever.

It depends on how old you are now, and your current lifestyle. My husband didn't see a doctor for 10 yrs until 2 weeks ago. His doctor gave him a clean bill of health, and he is 45 yrs old.
