Better distribution of the load being hauled with the bulk of the weight on the trailer itself and centered over the drive axle allows more stability while driving. Use of dual wheels on the truck add more stability as well.

Backing up is a minor part of hauling the trailer and I suspect equally a smaller part of the decision to buy one. Loads can be larger on a goose neck versus a bumper hitch type trailer as well. If hauling as a "for hire" then payload becomes very important.

It Tows better and you can Back it into Tighter Spots. Heck I have had those things almost touching the Truck Cab. But, the Towing is Best you can usually go as fast as you want and the Trailer be right behind you, if, it made correct. Also, with the Tongue weight more up on the Axle, your Truck sit more level.

more stability, you can tow much heavier and larger loads using a gooseneck. also they are alot easier to back with and meneuver through tight spots. think about it, when was the last time you saw a 15-ton bulldozer being carried on a tow-behind trailer =P

there better always around,,first off you can put one anywhere you pretty much want to,,and on the road driving they help with traction,as well as handling,,also there easier to hook,,and un hook,,as most have really good raising and lowering system,,i guess you would have to drive one for a while to notice the difference,,but most people prefer them now over tow behind model,s,,hope this help,s some.

you have more maneuverability with a gooseneck than a bumper hitch. They also are more stable. It won't go from side to side as badly as a bumper hitch trailer.
