You might be able to recover SOME part of it. IF Auto-Save is turned on (on by default) Just load Word and if anything was saved the "recovered" file will automatically be loaded. If nothing, then you lost it and have to redo

Not likely unless you had quick save on and it saved part of the document and your computer crashed, then it would come back up as a recovered document. But, if you just closed without saving and shut the pc down, then you are out of luck.

If you have AUTOSAVE turned on and the computer lost power (not shut down) with Word still open, you MIGHT be able to recover. And it also depends on the version of Word.

Also, check your default save location for hidden files with a ~ at the begining of the name.

sometimes when you restart word, it will give you a list of documents that it saved. I"m guesing you already opend word, so that may not work for you, but maybe!

someplace you should have a temporary document for word.. ending with the tilde mark... ~
