I think you have baught way too much into what society thinks is the essence of beauty. I am almost 5'9 and I am a size 18. I am by no means a small woman. To me weight is of little importance. A woman that believs in herself, holds her head high an is not scared to be what she really is tends to be much more attractive than any other woman who is unsure of herself and always second guessing her image through other peoples eyes.
My advice, as long as you are healthy just love yourself. Don't worry about what other people think. Dress and act in a manner that is pleaseing to YOU. If you believe in your own personal beauty it will shine through and others will see it too. Belief in ones self is contagious. Try it!

You may have a low thyroid condition. Go to your doctor and ask for a physical, and let them know your concerns up front, so they can be looking for causality for your specific concern.
Something else to think about. Do you pinch an inch in one area and 4 in another? If your weight is evenly distributed, then simple changes in your activity level could help compensate.
If food is not an issue for you, then do these simple things: Be sure you are eating breakfast (it kick starts your metabolism and helps you avoid a "hunger spike" later in the day), and make one of your meals of the day a big leafy salad with whatever trimmings you wish (this will help reduce your caloric intake while keeping you healthy and satiated). And drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water a day (keeps your system regulated and helps curb hunger).

dont worry about what other people think. i have a friend who is overweight but she's gotten past being self-conscious. Sure people are gonna say some things but once they get to know you they'll forget about it completely. you should be comfortable with the ways you look and not let what other people think affect how you live your life. I personally dont know about pinch and inch but dont let it affect you.

Everyone can have their best body, reguardless of genetics. Check out Bill Phillips book, Body-for-Life. Actually, read anything which promotes and helps you to be healthy, rather than to lose weight. Because really, what is your goal? To weigh less, or to be healthy? Stay away from all junk that says anything about losing weight. Ab loungers, pills, diets, it is all just trying to take your money.

5'3" and 145lbs is not THAT overweight. You are not obese. So, dont worry about it. Also, you have to be happy with yourself regardless of how much you weigh or what you look like if you really want to feel free enough to enjoy your life--and THAT is what's important. Right? So, if you want to work on something, start there.

Don't worry. It's good to "pinch an inch".You don't want to walk around looking like a skeleton.

if you look good, it doesn't matter, but no matter what anyone who likes you says ,"looks do matter" and if you want to lose weight, walk more, don't take elevators, cut back on portion size, and drink eight 8 oz glasses of water everyday , get your metabolism going and cut back on calories,
