why is it that some wheels look the same, but yet there are for spacific front wheel or rear wheel?? what makes them different?

The difference is the off set. on a front wheel drive the center part of the rim is pushed outward, to make room for th front wheel drive parts. While rear wheel drives don't need the extra room.

Don't put rear wheel drive rims on a front wheel drive car. If you do you are asking for a lot of trouble...

wear and tear. For instance, you would probably want to put a steel belted radial tire on a front wheel drive. They last longer, and are more strongly enforced, so the road doesn't tear them up as fast. And a rear wheel drive would have deeper grooves in the tire, so the tires can grip the road better. If you ask me, I think rear wheel drives are a pain in the butt no matter how you look at it.
