I need help here. What can you buy a women over 40, with an expensive taste, when you are travelling abroad? She already has most regulr things...expensive gifts are very risky (chances are she will not like it...and it is impossible to return...cheap stuff is out of question...) any ideas?

It really depends on where you're travelling. Local folk art is a great gift, as it can't be bought wherever you live. It depends on what her taste is (expensive is kind of vague). Get her something that can only be found where you're travelling. Objects d'art are always good.

A bouquet of roses with baby's breath is always nice...or find out her favorite flower and send a bouquet of that. I am over 40 and enjoy planting flowers so I enjoy getting rose bush plants that will grow and keep on giving each year. If she has hobbies or enjoys reading how about a gift certificate or gift card for the best store for her to pick out what she would need or enjoy. A gift card for a day spa...massage, facial, manicure, sauna, jacuzzi, hairdresser, hypnosis...etc. any of these or all of the above...and remember a very mushy card and flowers with whatever...and she should be very pleased. The main thing is what does she like? My husband got me a potted tropical plant for Valentine's Day once I actually made him take it back to the florist...It would have only died quickly (I am no good with tropical)...I prefer a pretty houseplant,or a live plant for my flower garden anytime. So good luck...we can be hard to please at times...

Well, it depends upon your realtionship with the woman. Maybe take her someplace nice to eat, and a show or concert. A spa certificate combined with a certificate from you to take care of whatever chores and work she would have that week. A massage, either personal or professional. Maybe a tour of the local area, more for the flavor of the region than the touristy things.

Oh, and a card that says "Happy 29th birthday!"

A silk scarf always comes in handy. I can think of a not-so-expensive but classy broach? Maybe a gift card? How about silver hair pins with rhinestones? Could be jewels......this gift better be for your mother. I don't think anyone over 40 deserves super expensive gifts...if it's not my mother or grams...

Does she collect anything? How about an antique pin. Can be elegant without being too expensive. If you want to spend a lot get something with the real stones.! Women never have enough jewelry!!

actual everyone seems to be so judgmental each from time to time. i'm getting what you're saying. it would desire to no longer likely be concerning the money in any respect. In a feeling you experience such as you place extra thought into his present than he does of you. it may come from what he believes. To him birthday's won't be like Christmas as an occasion and 40 dollars consistent with individual possibly ok by employing his standards. yet I do see why you possibly perplexed, you place extra into him and doubtless experience like he's not doing the same. it quite is a superbly valid feeling to have. all of us have distinctive view factors approximately what's suitable in a courting and what isn't, and that's ok. i think of it would be appropriate in case you do talk approximately it with him. it may even come out in a humorous tale like "i think stupid, i grew to become into getting you presents that are one hundred dollars or extra to coach you the way a lot I care..." and notice what his reaction is. you are going to be able to as properly upload "...possibly it is purely my tousled perspective" and doubtless it quite is the way you think you may desire to coach extra love. My kinfolk is that way, turning out to be up the dearer the present the extra thought or like it meant (at cases), it quite is the message I have been given. So certainly for my fiance on the time (now hubby) i might spend a lot of time attempting to discover the appropriate high quality present, fee lined. And he grew to become into raised with extra of "that's the the thought that counts" we've talked it over...and we've the two grown in that section lol.

Where are you traveling? What is your relationship? abroad as in Europe or Asia? You know stick with a magnet and tell her she is always with you everywhere you go. Thought of you here. Also my husband travels ALOT everywhere. A postcard is the best. He drops them to me from everywhere and I put them in a special box. Try getting the box.

A day at a spa is practical, relaxing, yet sophisticated enough for those with fine taste. You can even tailor it to your spending level. It can be as simple as a facial, or as complex as chemical peels, body wraps, massages...etc.

Check around and see what kind of perfumes she likes, most ladies like to smell nice. Just don't buy anything without some research on your part.
