African Americans VS Mexican Americans?

Why is it that here in California that we have A.A vs M.A? It seems to me that it is some sort of government conspiracy to keep both races oppressed. It would seem more benificial for the A.A and the M.A to join in the fight against the opression that they all recieve from our society instead of feeding the oppression by constantly fighting against one another.

Well, first off there is one big difference A.A. did not choose to be here we were brought here unwilling where M.A. have and had a choice. We are all minoritys and we should all be on the same side but society keeps all of us bond to how we think people should be or act or think. There is of course a communication problem that keeps these two races from joining. But as far as people not wanting either races, GUESS what to bad. Blacks and mexicans and any other races are not the only ones who bring down property values, join gangs are lazy there are more whites now more than ever that are doing the same things there are bad apples in every group and we shoudl not generalize we should be specific Because as a black woman who works and attend school working on a second degree while raising four childern who are on the honor roll, play every sport and are active the community i dont like black or any other race who arent doing anything in fact i cant stand anybody who is not about there business regardless of what color they are ignorance is ingnorance and people like the one who made the comment that you dont want either race here is part of the ignorance bowl, of lazy slobs and dumb asses. Step into the furture boo, we are here and arent going any where just like the mexican americans, the asians, koreans and whoever else what you can do is go to europe or some island that you can live by your lomesome. JUST alittle FYI... Arent we a minority? Yes? M.A. arent they a minority??Yes. Ok well if we are a minority that means that we dont make up the mass amount of people. right so you explain to me how can these races all be on welfare not working and all the other negative you spute when its more whites here than others wont they be the ones who make up the mass amount of people. Take a sociology class and learn how there are more whites than any other race on welfare, not college educated, not working there is no way possible that other races can have a higher number when we are a minority and there are more whites than us. come on now get educated boo. We are all part of the same gang, the human race and we have to get it together so we dont have things like terroisim that dont care what color americans we are they want all americans dead.

I think that every minority needs to join together regardless of what race you are. By making race an issue it will always be what identifies you. First and foremost everyone is human. I am not stupid, I know that race is always in every ones minds, but the only way to achieve full equality to not approach the matter in a racial point of view (even if the matter is race related). If someone is faced with making a decision based solely of human qualities, they will have to deal with only the facts in the situation at hand. Race shouldn't be something that people hide behind when feeling left behind or shunned. Take out the color of someones skin and then judge based wholly on character an actions. When you ask if A.A. and M.A. should join together I believe that this would be only something created based of race which will lead only to people looking at it like it is all about race and not about the issue of oppression. All oppressed people need to ban together whether they are women (any color), working/lower class (any color), single parents (any color), homeless (any color), victims of crime (any color). Same holds true for Gay/Lesbians. We are humans... Everyone of us... Nobody is better or worse than anyone else... That should be the issue.

I've notice no such rivalry outside the prison system and gang turfs.
A.A are more oppressed than the M.A, however illegal Mexicans are the most oppressed in this state. Historically, our capitalist society has always relied on a class system. First it was the native americans, then African slaves and now illegal immigrants. Society will except oppression when that lower social class does what the upper classes won't do.

you are absolutely correct...and some idiots are buying into it. i know that some aa feel that the mexicans,, are settling in easier ..quicker...and with less resistance then they did and it bothers some people who were born and bread in this country that outsiders get more respect and assistance. i think the a.a. and m.a. are fighting for the same small piece of the pie. like two dogs fighting over one pathetic bone. it is sad... and a poor commentary for our country and its leaders. and jivesucka...not all blacks and mexicans belong to gangs... It's funny how some people saying they anit racist but real quick to put on stereo types out there. It's not a gang issue either for two ethnic groups of a minority type is hard to come up because society only allows one or the other. Far a Mexicans go these people work there *** off for you for a few bucks that u give them so they can turn it around and put food in their family's mouths back in mexico. So don't preach or be a bigget about Mexicans because your the same *** hole who hired them to do your landscaping or construction for the price of shirt at the mall. I am in Mexico. Part of the problem is that the US journalists tend to portray the ghetto blacks for political reasons, and no one here realizes until I tell them, that over 50% of all blacks in the US are ordinary, decent, middle-class people with college education and ordinary jobs.

So, when the illegals hit the inner-city, what do they see? Pretty much what they have been shown on TV in Mexico, lower class people with little visible education, with tendencies to shoot each other. Sigh!

I don't want either of them here but where I live, the Mexicans at least want to work and respect others as compared to the Blacks, while not all of them, refuse to work, ruin neighborhoods, tie up the Police, are slobs, are rude & careless drivers and blame Whitey for their problems and are the biggest racists there are!!!
