when i start the car the rpm go from 1 to 2 1/2 and it does that repeatedly whats wrong?

3 things- throttle body, one of the Air sensor could be bust or could be a crack in one of the small air pipes kown as the vacuum advance.Either way the Throttle body is least likely problem and i doubt it should cost you more the a 20 buck to fix

has it done this before ? my car does it and it usually does it when I have my a/c on when I start the car try to turn your a/c off when you turn your car off and turn it on a few minutes after starting the car

are you revving the engine? that might do it. has it always done this? if so, it may just be the car warming up.

check the throttle

check your fuel filter when they start to go bad they can cause this problem

your a/c is probably kicking on and off if so have it charged with
134a

its either your air control valve is clogged/dirty or its not working properly/damage.
