Research your market. Find out what will make your site diffrent from the 10 million other ones out there. Find out competitive pricing sturcture and develop a realistic marketing plan. Also, dont totally reinvent the wheel...you can save a lot of time and money by utilizing already available model sites to base your business on.

More importantly you are going to want your website to be 'found' So many people put up a website then wonder why they don't make money.
