Because people don't look at marriage as something you should work hard to succeed at. They get married and think, "Oh, this will be a piece of cake!" Marriage takes effort from both sides to work in the long run. I'm not even married yet and I know that.

I think you can sum it up by saying since it is much too easy to get married in the first place our society allows for the many mistakes that are bound to be made when so many people stumble into marriage without having the slightest idea as to what it is about. Once married, people tend to run from the commitment and responsibility required to sustain a marriage.

because some lazy women will string a guy along untill he thinks this one is different from all the other gold diggers out there get married and then they lay on their lazy a__, and do nothing but watch tv all day and bit__ at him for not making enough money, and not helping out around the house to pick up all the empty food containers in front of the sofa, why not get off your a__ and do your share of keeping a marriage together.

Because parents are doing such a horrible job teaching their kids basic respect and responsibility...that stay with the kids as they get older and they don't know how to handle a relationship.

It shouldnt be! If you marry someone you should marry someone for the long haul good or bad unless they cheat on you or beat on you there is nothing that cant be worked out... If you loved that person enough to marry them you should love them enough to work it out or at least try to.

instead of looking at it as a commitment, people look at it as the thing to do- people are not like they used to be. instead of being in love- they are marrying for an end goal- i mean taxes, a bigger bank account those kind of things
