Yes, that is annoying...people tend to mispronounce so many things, or are just lazy in their speech, like words already mentioned here: libary (library) or a real winner is when describing food: tases (tastes) = grrrrrr!!
{p.s. - Hate to have to do this, but it is "Valentine's Day" (apostrophe - ah, well...just punctuation, no big deal and thanks for letting me vent on pronunciation!}

Yes, and as an English teacher I'm even annoyed when children do it. I also wish it would be referred to as St. Valentine's Day, as that is the correct form.

no, by way of fact asserting "merry christmas" to a stranger or somebody you do no longer know alright is slightly close-minded. you do no longer know whether or no longer they have fun Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanza, yuletide, or despite. in my opinion, i'm no longer Christian, yet i do no longer innovations if somebody says "merry christmas" to me by way of fact i know that for the period of their innovations, they are purely being variety and wishing me the appropriate. the two artwork, yet I oftentimes say "chuffed holiday journeys" till i know for a fact that the guy celebrates Christmas. Do you think of that's stressful? ;]

yes, it does, and so does "expresso" for "espresso", "excape" for escape, and "cadillac" converter instead of "catalytic". Sometimes I'd like to gnash THEIR teeth!!

Yeah, it's dumb, but there's a lot bigger things going on in this world to get annoyed about.

Absolutely does. So does "samwich" instead of "sandwich" and "pitcher" (when they are talking about photographs) instead of "picture."
