Blue eyes are a recessive gene which means that you husband has the bb allele. You could either be Bb or BB. If you are Bb there is a 50% chance that your children will have blue eyes. If you are BB then all your children will have dark brown eyes.

I think Steve K is right if your parents were both brown and have both passed you a brown gene then your children can only possibly get a brown gene from you which will dominate the blue from your husband (which will be dormant but possible to pass to the next generation).
There is a small possiblility that one of your parents has passed you a dormant gene for a different eye colour though and it just hasn't shown for a while, my parents had brown and blue and of my siblings and I we have two blues a brown and a green!

Brown is dominant, blue is recessive. That means to have blue eyes you have to inherit the blue gene from both parents so you have blue/blue genes. If your brown eyes are caused by you having brown/brown genes, your kids cannot have blue eyes (but your grandchildren could!). If you have blue/brown genes you would still have brown eyes (b/c brown is dominant) and your kids will have a 50-50 chance of blue eyes.

Blue eyes are a recessive trait I think. You would have to know if the colour of your eyes contain any recessive genes. If you have recessive blue in your brown, then your babies eyes could be blue or brown. oh, scerw it...

that will do the trick.

The child has a 50-50 chance of having brown or blue eyes but it depends on who fathered of the child. You didn't state this part. We are to infer it was your Husband from your question.

The color could be from genes entered in to your genetic makeup from several generations back. However, if I was a gambling man I would bet brown because it is more dominant than blue in most cases. But this is no guarantee.

Your babies eyes could be any of the colors. Having dominant genes does not mean the other genes are dormant. For instance, although it would be extremely rare, a white woman and a white man could hypothetically have a black child.

it all depends if you have more than one child one may have brown one may have blue the dominent color changes with he genetics of the child it cant be predicted it depends on the receptive nature of your future childs genetics but i can say that they will be either brown or blue you wont get green which is a mutation of blue in the first place

Probability says Brown, the reality of genetic "mixing" is a roll of the dice. Your child could have either one or a possible mix such as brown/green. Good luck with your family!! :-)=
