People always pronounce it Ram steen! It pisses me off. It's pronoinced rram shtine! (roll the double r long "a"). There German NOT american. Pronounce the name right or don't talk about the band!!

Almost any American who's been in the US military can pronounce that. Ramstein is the name of a very popular U.S. Air Force base.
And German is not a terribly common language for Americans to learn. I studied it for many years and know that the ei combination takes on the sound of the last letter "I". And the same is true for ie - it take the sound of the "E". But again - this is not exactly common knowledge.
No need to get pissed. Just let it be your little inside joke - or a filter to find people who know better. And when you're talking to somebody who says "Ram-STEEN" you can POLITELY take the opportunity to educate them. But realize - some people don't and won't care because they have other things to focus their attention on ... like ... What purse goes better with these shoes, deciding between McDonald's & Burger King, or earning enough money to pay their bills and taxes.
If you want to get pissed about something - study politics, the economy, or the environment. Life's too short to let things like that kill your mood. Don't burn off all that energy on how to pronounce the name of your favorite band put it to use on something construtive!
