One night stands – Good or Bad? and why.?

I am really interested in the Why portion of the answer.

Good if you have a few of them.
BAD if that is the only kind of relationship you ever have.

I think they are good because it is just an opportunity to enjoy sex for what it is. No relationship factors or feelings other than lust involved.

I think they are bad if you have too many of them. First, you expose your self to the possibility of disease. Second, I think it is important to have a meaningful relationship to enjoy the passion of lovemaking.

There are two ways to enjoy sex... lust without committment and passion with love. Should enjoy sex more.

They can be either!

Positive because:
- They increase your self-confidence - you feel like you're worthwhile to someone and that you are wanted and attractive
- They can be sexually satisfying
- You can learn new tricks or tips sexually
- You can let go and say what makes you feel good, or do crazy things in bed that you've always wanted to try but never had the confidence to do - you never have to see the person again so you don't have to worry about making a tit out of yourself!

Negative because:
- You can get the reputation of being a slapper or easy
- You could catch as STI or STD if you don't take suitable precautions
- If you got pregnant, you likely would never know anything about the father, or if they have any genetic disorders etc
- It can be emotionally damaging to feel like you have been used for sex
- Frequently when participating in a 1-night stand the people involved are drunk, and so it is frequently not conciously consentual

Could be good because of the sexual fulfillment from it for a few minutes (or may be hours). Other than that, what comes after makes it BAD both fot the male and the female.

1. It leaves a stain in our memories.. and who knows it may haunt either or both in the future. (The feeling of being "abused" and "used".)
2. Unwanted pregnancies.
3. Exposure to STDs and AIDS.. whether there's protection or worse, none.
4. It defeats the purpose of having sex as an expression of love between the couple (called lovemaking).
5. It takes away respect, especially for the female.

Personally, I won't share an intimate moment with a stranger.

I've had 1 one night stand in my life. That was nearly 4 years ago. We used protection. I also have 2 kids. They were are fathered by one night stand. We decided after our one-night stand ended, that we wanted to have an actual relationship. 7 months later, I became pregnant with our first child. two months after she was born, I became pregnant with our second child. I don't have any STDs whatsoever. My first and only one night stand ended up being much more than that.

I think they can be both good and bad. Good because you can just have fun and have no strings attached. Also because you can be less worried about what you look like and how you're performing, you just do it! Bad because of stds and stuff. Also because it doesn't mean anything, of course that could be a good thing too, if that's what you're looking for! It could also be bad because you don't really know the person, you don't know if they'll tell the world.

Depends on how you feel abot it the next day, whether you are smart enough to protect yourself and how many one night stands you have. If you have a list long enough that you can't keep track of the names then you have a problem.

They are very, very, very, bad!
I had a 1 night stand and the condom broke and I got pregnant with a kid that neither of us wanted. I now love my kid to death and wouldn't give him up for the world however his sperm donor told me to abort him. He told me it wasn't fair that I keep a kid he never wanted and would never have anything to do with. I told him I would never do that! Needless to say, the man really never has had anything to do with my son. He is such a prick he won't give me a health history, or any other information.
I would never have another 1 night stand EVER!

one night stand??? well ill answer it based on reality...if you enjoy it then its good but if you don't then its better cause its just for a night, get it!....but you should also know the consequences of your action cause in life everything happens good or bad...its just a matter of choices you made...
