Cheap Trick is NOT a knock off band. They've been playing for almost 30 years with all the four ORIGINAL members. Many musicians from today's biggest bands claim Cheap Trick to be among their main influences. In VH-1's countdown of the top 100 hard rock bands of all time, Cheap Trick made it to the 25th position.
REO, although somewhat lame, was anything but a one hit wonder. They in fact, had many smash hit singles.
Boston, although very short lived, is considered a classic band.
And the Sex Pistols, started a revolution. Knock off band? All the opposite. The Sex Pistols were trend setters.
So I'd say that what sucks around here, is your knowledge of music. However, I do agree with you that rappers SUCK.

actually these guys had more than just one hit. I know for a fact Boston had about 7 hit either no. 1 or somewhere high in the Billboard charts, and Cheap Trick had several great songs. REO had some hits and the sex pistols basically started the punk revolution in the 70's. I don't know how much you have heard about these bands but I would definately research these bands a little more and find out how popular they were throughout the 70's and 80's. Now I say all of this because I like them (for the most part) but there would be some people that would cut your throat if you said that these bands were knock-offs. But that's my opinion.

I don't agree with The Sex Pistols being listed there. They were very influential to many bands and youth culture in the 80s.
I actually don't agree with the other bands - they had multiple hits in their days. I don't really like most of the music (cheap trick, boston, reo) but I don't think they are "knock-offs"
Why do you think they are knock-offs? Who did they rip of their music from?

i agree with you on sex pistols, they suck. not really sure about cheap trick.
but im offended that you would say boston is a one hit wonder and that they suck. their debut album boston went 17x platinum (highest selling debut album of all time) and was #3 on the album charts with more than a feeling peaking at #5 on the charts and long time at #22. second album dont look back went 7x platinum and was #1 on album charts with dont look back peaking at #4. third album went 4x platinum was #1 on album charts with amanda going #1 we're ready going #9 and can'tcha say ( you believe in me) going #20. and boston isnt a knock off band. if you hear boston on the radio, you know its boston.

I certainly don't agree that The Sex Pistols deserve to be in that company, but the rest of those bands I would consider to be bland at best.
