No need for them- football is non-stop, no time outs, a flowing game, so people focus on the game, and cheer the team on.
the FANS, are the cheerleaders if you will.
same thing with cheesy graphics and fake "organ" music, found at most American sports events - football doesn't have 'em (and hopefully NEVER WILL!).
the football fans make the their OWN music, sing, yell, and...... CHEER.
it's just not part of the football sport tradition.

If there were cheerleaders during soccer, they might get hit in the face by the soccer ball when its being kicked across the field.

Because soccer originated in Europe, and cheerleading originated in America.

Crystal Palace has their own cheerleaders called the Palace Crystals.And every 1st division ice hockey team in Finland has a cheerleading squad.So itäs not just an American tradition.

I think there are. Anyways they don't need em. Soccer's too interesting for cheerleaders to show up. I think cheerleaders are tacky looking.

Because they don't need any cheerleaders, the fans are enough.
I bet that the MLS is the only league in the world that actually has cheerleaders.

in Football (soccer) has its cheering corner the fans. have you watched a match, football doesn't need cheerleaders the fans have all the colours and chants for each and every clubs and countries.

i dont know. im a cheerleader and i would cheerlead for soccer any day. if they asked for world cup cheerleaders...sign me up!
