they wanna keep the baby in you as long as possible because the baby is healthier and safer and lungs can grow more. the baby is not really ready to be born till at least 36-38 weeks, 33 weeks is still premature and not a fully developed baby

I delivered my now 2 month old at 36 weeks. At 33 weeks its likely that your baby's lungs are not developed enough. If you deliver now its possible that your baby will have to stay in NICU for a week or two. If you can hold off the labor for another three weeks you will be fine. Until 36 weeks its likely that they will continue to try to stop your labor. It is a hard and long waiting game but the reward in the end is the greatest. My daughter at 36 weeks was only 5 lbs 3 oz but she was able to come home with me two days after she was born. Good Luck!!!

I done the same at 33 weeks pregnant but they stopped my labor..I was in the hospital for almost a week. I was also dialated like 2 centimeters but they did not want me having my son cause his lungs was not developed yet. (they done an amnio to see)

I had pre-eclampsia as well and they gave me shots to speed up his lung developement.

I went into labor again when i was 36 weeks and they tried to stop it but they couldn't so i had a c-section cause he was breech. When he was born he weighed 4 pounds 15.6 ounces and was 17 inches long.

He was and is healthy......Things will work out for you so don't worry so much. As long as you have god and a good doctor you will be fine.

Good luck on your new upcoming arrival!!

What exactly is your question?
It is really a waiting game. Seeing as baby already tried to get out, it's probable that he will be born prematurely, though at 32 weeks there's a high risk of disability because his body won't be developed enough to handle the world yet. The longer he's in there, the better his chances are of arriving without permanent damage. You should be asking the doctor these questions! Good luck.

It means your going to have a beutiful baby soon! 33 weeks is not the best time, but your baby will be fine-my daughter was born at 34 weeks and she was 5lbs 5 oz and healthy. That was 14 years ago and they have come a long way with pre term births. My neice gave birth to a baby girl at 28 weeks and she is also fine. Girls do better because their lungs mature faster. Your cervix softening means that it is widening to be able to allow the birth of your baby. When it's 100% effaced and you dilate to ten you will meet your baby!

You'd think they just would have let you have him.....strange?That medication they use can have horrible side effects, and even harm your baby,if it was the med i think it was....it's called Terbutaline (generic name, cant remember the brand right now), it stops your uterus from contracting.Did they say his lungs werent ready? If your 50% than yeah he could come any time, are you dialated any?Keep in mind you can be dialated to like 3cm your whole last month of pregnancy.

If they were real concerned they would have gave you strods to pump up the babys lungs. So his/her lungs must look good. but you really need to ask your dr med Q's. If you lay down a ot and keep your feet up. good luck and Congrats

.my advise is take time to rest up. both of my children were early and my fisrt they stopped her so much she just decided not to come at all. doctors are funny like that. trust in the lord and believe that when he is ready your baby will come healthy safe and sound. good luck and congrats

yeah, just take it easy. don't do anything that could make you go into preterm labor. the longer the baby is in there the better.
