I'm assuming your meaning it,s missing a little,,it may have a vacuum line off,,or one that has collapsed,,another cause for this is your spark plug gap,,may be a little wide,,this happen,s due to mileage and normal wear,,but there are a few thing,s you need to rule out first,,check the oil,,and make sure it is full,,second,,check all the plug wire,,s and make sure there on tight ,then give the engine a real good look - over,,and see if anything look,s out of place,,lot,s of times thing,s will vibrate loose,,there is one sensor that goes bad on these car,s and that,s the O-2 sensor,,and it will cause all the symptom,s you have described,,and also will give you a check engine light,,a friend of mine has one of those car,s,,and his check engine light come,s on when he goes to long without changing his oil,,these car,s are very reliable,,and durable,,and will basically last forever if taken care of,,i hope this info help,s some,,if you don't find it,,you may want to consider taking it to auto-zone,,they can hook it up on a small diagnostic machine,,and tell you exactly what it is,,this a service they offer free,,and there pretty good at it too,,be patient,,you,ll figure it out,,good luck.

It used to be this was serious stuff-pull over now! the engine is gonna blow. Nowadays, most of the time it has something to do with emissions equipment, sensors, rough idle, or in the case of my 2003 Toyota Corolla-it means the gas cap is not on tight enough or I topped off the gas tank instead of letting the pump shutoff tell me when to stop.(I was told that an air space above the gas level is needed-a friend told me because there is a charcoal canister up there that needs to stay in air, not gasoline)

i'd get a 2d, and probably a third opinion. The engine gentle will come on looooong previously the catalytic converter will pick to get replaced. at the same time as the vehicle is having complications in operating you receives an verify engine gentle. in case you restoration the topics somewhat without delay the catalytic converter would very last the existence of the vehicle.

depending on mileage, could mean many things. Likely if it's running rough, there could be many emissions sensors receiving a bad signal. The most common of these being the catalytic converter. When this clogs, the light is tripped.

Best guess is that there's a problem with the exhaust or the intake manifold. Take it to an engine specialist and it's a quick and usually cheap fix.
