I'm from Cape Town, South Africa and I have 2 lions in my backyard. They are very playfull and keep watch over the house. They don't bark, but they do growl...AT STUPID QUESTIONS!

Of course there are lions in South Africa. From what I know, they're all over the frickin' world. Go to any zoo. mo'fo'.

Yip, there are tons of lions in South Africa. They don't roam around our streets though so there is nothing to worry about. They are usually in enclosed areas or out in the bush. I'm quite sure lions are from many countries all over the world and not just South Africa.

yes there are lions in south africa, in fact south africa is the only country in the world where white lions are found in the wild. lions are found in africa, and i think there used to be or still are asian lions (but i am not sure).

There are lions in every part of the world - in zoos. The same applies for South Africa. Oh, and in reserves too (Kruger National Park).

In fact on most weekends of the year Lions can be seen roaming the fields of Ellis Park, Newlands and Loftus Versveld Cheetahs too!! In fact the Cheetahs mauled the Lions this past weekend in Bloemfontein.

Lake manyara National Park has unique tree climbing lions staying in acacia trees
In Tanzania you can see lions, Leopards, cheetah hunting live

Kenya too. We saw plenty of lion in Masai Mara and Samburu. A couple of beautiful young lionesses came right through our camp in Samburu to cross the river... we just got out of their way very quickly! And saw a lion kill on the Serengeti... sad, horrible, but also something very awesome about watching the primitive cycle of nature that way.
