The air bubbles caused by shaking the bottle may be the cause of the gas. However even if you were making a batch of formula each bottle made would have had to be shaken after warming to even the heat to avoid hot spots, so I'm not sure what difference that would make. Mylicon drops do help with gas but it's never a good idea to use any type of medication unnessisarily with a baby for prolonged periods of time unless your doc advises you to do so. Make sure she is getting all of her burps out and even try a couple different types of bottles. Unless she is fine with cold formula which can be hard on most little ones tummies at that age any type of bottle will need to be shaken including the use of disposable linned bottles in order to get any hot spots out of the formula and even out the heat. Talk to your doc about the formula she is on, they may suggest switching to a soy based formula is she is not currently on it. Soy based formulas help with gas and spit up and for many babies is easier on thier tummy.

My mom just had a baby. It is probably from shaking the bottle. The bubbles that come from shaking the bottle have to much air in them and the baby will get gas from that. Best thing is to buy the ready made similac.

gas can come from many things in a baby.
My little boy did alot, so I threw away his regular bottles and bought the Vent Air bottles, reduces alot of the air and bubbles in the bottle and they are tilted shaped, also don't lay baby down while feeding, raise head and back some for easier digestion. Make sure the baby burps several times, not just once. It used to take forever with my lil boy, but after several minutes, he would burp alot!

I have never heard of a baby getting gas from shaking the formula as you describe. She is probably just swallowing more air as she is drinking her bottle. Get some Mylocon drops or store brand anti-gas drops for babies and put a couple of drops in her bottle. We had to do that for my grandson and granddaughter and it worked wonders. Hope this helps.

Did you change formula or add solids? I have 5kids and been through just about it all. iron can make them fussy too. try and use a heating pad on low or a bath or just bouncing her- she may just be going through a phase right now. Is she having regular stools? Is her tummy soft? Is it a growth spirt--- did you go back to work and she is just "downloading "from a schedule change?? Colic isn't always bad we all have fussy irregular times she just doesn't know how to tell you yet---- Keep you head straight and try not to let it get to you---when all else fails call a friend or neighbor- go for a walk- change the routine if you know it's about the same time everyday. Good Luck

How often are you burping her and is the bottle propped? Never heard of shaking a bottle to mix it to cause gas. Try burping her more often and when she has gas, put a warm cloth on her tummy.

I had the same problem. Put some Mylicon drops in the bottle before shaking. There will be no bubbles! Like magic

It's important to be sure ur child is in an upright position during feedings. This aids digestion.
If that checks out, okay. consult your pediatricain regarding using mylecon or other gas remedies for baby's. You can also ask about the formula that you are using. One of my children was very gassy and spitting up formula- found out he had reflux & was lactose intolerant.
All in all the main thing is to be mindful of gas occurences. Speak to pediatrician about any concerns. Don't be shy, that's what you pay them for.

Shaking the bottle would definitely cause air bubbles. You might wanna try Playtex Nurser bottles instead. It really does minimize the likelihood of bubbles forming.
