If so, about how much was it? These people would rather die than tell you an estimate before they show up...

Also tried the snake, don't know if it wasn't long enough (25') but it went through like nothing. So far I'm trying lie and baking soda with vinegar.... thanks for the advice.

At least $50 for the visit. Try to remove the pvc drain under the sink and clean it. You can try also a plumbers snake down the drain (after removing the p trap), it costs about $15. It may help remove the plug in the drain tube.

like the other one said STOP THE MADNESS !!
1. Go under the sink put a bucket under the p-trap
2. unscrew the p-trap empty contents into bucket
3. use needle nose plyers to clean out the rest of the pipe
4. go outside and clean the p-trap
5. put back together
6. pour 3 tabel spoons of baking soda down the drain and then pour white vinigar down
7. It will bubble and should clean the rest of the pipe that you could not get.
8. let hot water run down the drain for about 45 seconds.
9. If it does not work and is still stopped up go to home depot/lowes and get a sink snake.

Its not worth it. They'll probably charge you about $75 just come to your door. If you have a slow draining sink its mostly likely do to the fact that the P-trap is clogged. Go under your sink with a pipe wrench, loosen it up (make sure you have a bucket underneath) clean out the gunk. Replace the part the same way you take it off.
