How do I convert mp4 files into mp3s?

I want to burn a disc off iTunes for a friend, but it won't let me burn iTunes versions of songs (mp4) to mp3 format. How do I convert them so that I can burn them?

Ummm...I'm pretty sure mp4s are movie files, and mp3s are music files. So if you have some sound ripper program, you'll probably have to "rip" the sound file from your mp4 file and add to your library. Then, you can right click it and select convert to mp3[new version only].
