Mara Jade wasn't a Jedi at the time, but was alive. She later becomes a Jedi. The twins might count.

Of course there are. They go into hiding after the realize what's happening across the galaxy. They probably just don't know who else survived the purge...like Yoda and Obi-Wan. Plus, I think we only like to concentrate on those two since the real story of Star Wars is about Anakin and his fall to the Dark Side. Yoda and Obi-Wan are the most influential Jedi in THAT story, so we just don't seem to focus on all of the other Jedi out there. Because, remember, now "every single Jedi...is an enemy of the Republic." So no one is just going to come out and say they're a Jedi.

It is implied in Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith, that there were stragglers who'd be drawn to the Jedi Temple by the transmission ordering that they regroup there. That's why Obi Wan and Yoda disabled the transmission in a scene that featured a glimpse at some really blue technology that looked better than anything in the "later" movies.

For those really into the whole Star Wars Mythos, one has to wonder what happened to such Jedi characters as Adi Galia, who appeared in various non-movie related spinoffs as well as The Phantom Menace, but then disappeared from visual reference in the later movies. A character resembling Adi Galia is shown in Revenge of the Sith, and other references to her indicate that she's a cousin or something like that...so it stands to reason that the Jedi's like the oh-so-lovely Miss Galia are either dead, or off in hiding somewhere. Which becomes a moot point when you get guys like Luke Skywalker running around, reving the Jedi Order druing and after the Rebellion.

But of course, this is something that will undoubtedly be explored once the marketing advantages of "missing Jedi" hits the Star Wars spinoff machine. We're probably gonna learn the histories of a number of "lost" Jedi who probably have their own smaller scale stories that don't have anything to do with Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader or his particular fall. And who knows who actually fought in the ranks of the Rebel Alliance...that organization could have been crawling with dozens, if not hundreds of "closet Jedi Knights, masters, and refugee padawan learners."

If you go back to the early movies it is established that Darth Vader hunted down and killed the remaining Jedi except for those two.

The term jedi means the person has had jedi training. No one counts without the training.

There are several "Star Wars" novelettes out that are set both pre and post movie saga/episodes. I can't remeber the titles but there are at least two that imply that there were some Jedi that did miss the massacre depicted in the movie.
The force is strong in Leah but a Jedi is trained, she never got the training in the movies. But again the post movie novelletes pickup on that theme. Check Amazon or your local bookstore for the titles.

No, thats why the empire wanted to track down the last possible nme (Luke) b4 he becomes a Jedi.
If there had been other Jedis (full Jedis, not trainees) they would have been after those - plus they couldnt hide since the force can be detected by those of the dark side.

I think so. At least in the expanded universe books they mention Jedi knight that survived the purge and live in exile like Obi-Wan and Yoda.

I don't think so. There were Jedis on missions, but the emperor sent enough troops with them to finish them off. (wasn't it execute order 66 or something?) Even Yoda and Obi-wan were attacked.

Yeah try and reading the Lucas approved books after Episode VI, there is a new Jedi, a bad guy can't remember his name, but he's not necessarily too bad because he's a clone and kind of insane but some admiral, Thorin I think his name is takes advantage of him. :-?
