a monster of a chain reaction would occur, 1 no more oxygen (very bad) 2 all the herbivores would die off then all the carnivores would die off and thus no more life. maybe of the microscopic level because there are some of those little guys that can live in very inhospitable areas

If there are no more plants, the food chain collapses and we all eventually die of starvation. The air quality would also suffer, and CO2 levels might rise to the extent that it would be poisonous for air-breathing creatures.
