Wilhelm Reich has done the most scientific research into the area of love, more precisely the orgasm. yes, there is power in love. However the function of the orgasm as he discovered functional energy that very powerful and has so much interesting value to the government and the existing power structure at that time.
He was a controversial thinker, much apart from ordinary scientific concerns,he sought out new types of free energy.
Mr. Reich died in a federal prison due to this truth and none other is that his discoveries were important, his research so through and his applications to his applied innovations that his findings would have changed the world and advanced the human race by leaps. instead, Even though he had not committed any crimes. Imprisoned because the minds of that time could not comprehend the technology at all thought it to be witchcraft of sorts and put away into a locked down cell with no contact with the outside, including the media. I'm afraid so.
We watched so many movies in which love is the only power to defeat evil powers, e,g, "Harry Potter", "Spiderman", "Titanic", "Silent Hill", "My Sassy girl", "Superman", " X-Man", etc...
Not ot mention Bible, Love is well-proven in our daily lives. Who want to be a loveless person?
The opps power of Love is Hate. We hate loser; hate cowards; hate betrayer; hate arrogant people.. There are so many things to hate, yet Love is always to find a way into our heart and dissolve the feeling of Hate which is the root of all the evils. Both Love & Hate are powerful, it depends on U to decide which one will be the strongest in your heart. That's why it is said" Follow your Heart."

I think love is the longest lasting of all powers, not necessarily the strongest. It is possible for lust or greed to overcome love if you are not careful.

Lao Tzu may have thought so
“Love is of all passions the strongest, for it attacks simultaneously the head, the heart and the senses.”

Love is one of the highest emotions that a human can feel. I guess that joy and possibly unconditional love would be higher but I have never felt unconditional love. Betrayal and jealousy are some of the higher negative emotions that we feel.
So when you call love a power I think what you are referring to its affect on one's behavior. That power is as strong as the person's inability to control their behavior. You got to admit that people do crazy things when they are in love. And they do very bad things when they are jealous.
We should master our behavior and use our emotions to help guide us in the right direction. Humans are emotions, yes even men.

Yes definately - the nuturing and bonding love of a parent and a child, the companionship love of friends throughout life, the passion and romantic love of a spouse, the enduring and unconditional love of God - all of these make a day special - help us through the lessons, hard times, and nitty gritty of life - they also give us reason to celebrate, smile, laugh, and someone(s) to do it with!
