I was morbidly obese and I've slimmed down to slightly plump. Still hope to lose a little more weight.

If someone needs to lose a stack of weight, it can seem daunting. Encourage her to lose just 5 pounds. Once she realises she can lose weight, she will probably want to lose a little more. Losing just 5 percent of your body weight makes a significant difference to your health, so any weight loss is great - she doesn't have to become a supermodel.

Also, I had health problems that were helping me stay fat, so she needs a thorough medical examination for metabolic and hormone dysfunctions. I wouldn't have lost this much weight if I wasn't getting the proper medical treatment, and eating the right diet for my medical conditions.

I was overweight since I was like 9 or ten years, when I turned 15 I started loosing weight by excercising a lot, I was in the basketball team and I started going one or sometimes two hours to the gym, I never diet, but I started reducing the amount of calories I ate, and stopped eating junk food, not for ever, but not everyday as I used to. Now I'm 22 and I've lost over 40 pounds, my life is much better, I have much more enregy than I used to, I still excercise and eat normally, every type of clothes fits me, plus I'm able to go to the beach and not feel embarressed. I have a great love life because I feel really comfortable with my body, I still got some stretch marks but... I can live with them

Well being depressed doesn't do a thing for her weight. You can start by telling her that.

I've been overweight, but I went to a place called ediets.com I make all of my food from home, do not eat ANYMORE fast food or sodas, exercise 5 nights a week and so far I've lost 20pounds in 3 weeks. Plus, I've been saving a lot of money too! Have her go on to the website, it's awesome!

I'm 16 and a few months ago I was 5'10, 195 pounds, not terribly overweight, but still kind of husky with annoying fat. I was also out of shape; I coundn't run a whole mile.

I then joined my school's crew (rowing) team. Practices were the hardest things that I've done in my life and all other challenges seem easy compared to it. We won the city championship , catholic league championship, and most other races.

I also know a kid that went in very overweight (this kid was 5'5, 200+ pounds) and lost 50 pounds.

I am now a happy 165 pounds and ran 9 miles yesterday.

Lesson: join an organized sports team or join a gym workout group or do something with other people like yourself who are focused on a common goal. Other peoples' achievements will encourage you to push yourself further, consistently. Its not an easy thing to do, but organized sessions help to work it into your daily routine, and eventually working out becomes something like driving to work, eating meals, etc.

Sure! I will be glad to share my story. I went through the trauma of thyroid disease. I weighed 285 pounds. My feet killed me, I was tired, I had no self esteem, I was self conscious, ashamed, and embarrassed.
My doctor started putting me on these crazy fad diets that did more harm than good. I was beyond frustrated, I was not losing weight, I was becoming quite sick from the fad diets (south beach, atkins, so on and so forth) whenever one goes on a fad diet they are depriving themselves of nutrients and the carbs that the body needs.

Well...I went to another doctor. He looked at me and said here is what you need. He gave me an antidepressant, the antidepressant was to help balance out my brain and body chemicals. He then told me that all I have to do is cut back on my portions. The antidepressant would start helping in about 2-3 weeks. I started losing weight and feeling and looking good.
I was eating less, excercising and drinking plenty of water.
I did not go on any fad diets.
I just learned to limit my portions. I can still eat what I like but within reason. Instead of a full square of cake, I eat half. I don't eat it everyday. I might eat it as a treat same with a candybar.
If I eat fast food, I have chicken instead of beef and I skip the fries and I drink either a diet soda, minute made light lemonade or water.
It's not easy, it takes discipline and sometimes even monitoring. I would recommend your sister talk to a doctor or even go to Overeaters.

I weigh 210 pounds now, I look and feel awesome and confident. I am getting positive attention. I am not so tired out, I walk a good fast paced walk now, my feet don't kill me.

I have 60 more pounds to go and I will be right where I need to be.
It takes discipline, monitoring and support.
It can be done. The only person that can help her lose weight is the person that she sees in the mirror everyday. She has to want it

Perhaps some antidepressants would be helpful to her too
Good look!

Well, this ain't my experience, but it's my mother's. My mom wasn't OVERLY-fat, she just was chubby. And she got upset about that, she couldn't fit in normal sizes, and that brought her down. Especially since she is 5"4. She tried everything to excersising, to Dr. Bernstein, to running, nothing worked. When we heard of Herbal Magic, we were in total doubt. This could've been a failure, like all the other times, but NO! She lost 8 pounds a week and so on... then since she was so normal to her diet, she lost 2 pounds a week! Lost over 30 pounds in 2 months!!!She feels so good about herself, and is extremeley proud! Herbal Magic gives out a whole lost on how many of what you can eat a day! And the thing is you never WANT to cheat, because you can't! Please try it, I know how you're feeling...

Good LUCK!
;D

Honestly, Subway introduced a sandwich called the Mediterranean chicken sub a few years ago and I liked it so much I ate it for lunch and dinner everyday for three months straight. I wasn't exercising any more than usual and I wasn't intending to lose weight but I lost about 40 lbs.

If you are trying to lose weight though, you should see a doctor and get a realistic exercise and diet program. Unless ofcourse you want to eat Subway everyday for the rest of your life.
