I have learned that lucid dreaming is easiest after you have slept for about 5 hours, stay up for 20-30 minutes then go back to bed.
Look into techniques such as WILD (I've done it yes it's possible) and MILD or whichever of the many work. It's been very helpful for me to do reality checks also. Never, even when you know you're not dreaming, dismiss it as reality after only one check. I didn't succeed when I tried to fly in a dream so I thought it was real life.
Check into ld4all.com it's the best site I've come across so far.

You can train yourself. The hard part is getting started. Every now and then during the day ask yourself am I really awake or is this situation too surreal to be true? I have lucid dreams quite often. A sure way to test if you're really awake is to look at a written notice then turn away. If you're dreaming you won't remember what the notice said.

This is probably not the best advice, but one of the side effects of the nicotine patch is lucid dreams. I have used the patch to try to quit smoking, and let me tell you, you have some crazy dreams that seem absolutely real. But remember, you need to take the good with the bad, I have had some very good dreams, and very bad nightmares.

wish i could help, but ive always lucid dreamed. I didn't know it had a name or was something people couldn't do until a year or two ago. it's pretty easy, just get into the habit of doing it.

Go to town and check out the babes. I had a dream about UFO's destroying my town, as i was running toward a yellow truck i was thinking there weren't any keys in the ignition, but i started thinking that i shouldn't be thinking negative and start imagining keys.. than when i get there sure enough there is keys ready to go.

In the 90 the amino acid Tryptophan was sold at GNC. At that time it was a tool of people like therapists to get their patients to remember their dreams.
It was removed from the market. You might find out where it occurs naturally in a food source.

It's an interesting concept, but it's easier to decide to have a lucid "day". Life is short, milk it for all it's worth.

one possibility is to call on your ancestors and ask them to help. sounds weird in this culture, but that's just because it is so lacking in true "soul level" content. many "traditional" cultures know the value of contact with the ancestors for aid in many areas of life including healing, good luck, protection, etc. think about it and ask most sincerely. you will receive a pleasant surprise, i think. lucid dreaming is a very important step in one's overall growth, "spiritually". since you have the interest, act on it. obviously, also, there are many resources online that can help. good luck.

I used to chant "Hu" and get very lucid dreams. It's said by the Sufis to be a very sacred, ancient name for God.
