Part of it may be just her growing up, but part of it may also be as an attention getter, good or bad. She gets attention when she gets caught in the lie, and she knows that. Kids all start out lying. I have two teenagers, one 17, and one graduated 18 year old son. Most grow out of it but you have to come down on them hard when you find them lying. Take things away immediately (i.e. cellphone, phone, computer) anything to fit the crime. Once they associate punishment with the lying, they figure it out. If not, then counseling is in order.

there is not any set age for wearing makeup, as long as you comprehend a thanks to apply it. when you're mature adequate to be real looking and comprehend how a lot and what kind of makeup is proper on your age, then you definately should be high quality. as an celebration, a delicate woman of 13 can seem large with somewhat lip-gloss, yet she may seem dreadful if she confirmed up at school wearing eyeshadow and mascara. it is going to in ordinary words be flattering even if that is age proper, and also you position on the right seem for the right position.

she's most likely a habitual liar because she's found out that it's easier to lie than to face reality or be herself. definitely a result of lack of discipline, probably poor parents

I was the same way when I was that age and I grew out of it. I think it is in the age and eventhough they are still being controlled by adults it is their way to be able to do their own thing.

She must have trouble fitting in. She will eventually discover later in life that her whole life's journey could have went in a completely different direction. That is , if she hadn't went out of her way to be someone else other than herself to please everyone else.

Your niece's parents are the ones who should be disciplining her. If she lies, she should be punished.

It's always the parent's fault. If she is already a pre-teen its just about too late................
