Click the My Computer icon, right clicking on the Local Drive (C:) and selecting properties. Go to the Sharing tab, and enable file sharing.
Go into My Network Places, and run the task to Set up home or small office network. That will connect the two PCs.
If after that you still can not see each other, on first computer click the Start button and select run. Type in: command
In the Window that appears, type in: ipconfig
The computer should display four lines of information with your IP address being the second line. (Say it is 192.168.0.100)
Go to the second computer, click Start, and select Run. Type in:
\\192.168.0.100 (only use your real IP after the \\). You should then be able to see the first computer.
Repeat the process on the second computer.

You have to enable file sharing on each computer. Then look at your network configurations to set up the computers to recognize the computer that is the main host.
