We expect anywhere from 1000 to 2000 employees and families.

Any ideas on venues, themes, foods would be greatly appreciated. if you can suggest a better category to ask this in i would appreciate that too

i guess it all depends on how much your company is willing to spend. my company had their company picnic @ brookfield zoo and supplied us all with tickets for our familes...it proved to be a nice family friendly outing, then again it wasn't quite as large as your company, but u might want to look into it. and if your company like to be REAL big spenders, there is always Great America. i've heard of having beach volleyball/skate parties. contact your local park districts for facilities avail.

try using the Cook County Forest Preserves. they form ring around cook county. you will need a permit.
I've used Busse Woods - jct of 90 & 290 NW of ORD simply because it has a great big lake and it's easy to get to If you need help cooking you may want to call the college of DuPage in Glen Ellen They have an excellent culinary arts program and you should have no truoble finding student chefs to help you 630-942 2800 -ask for culinary arts
