What do yo uthink the intentions of N. Korea are, and how would you suggest the issue be handled?

They just want money and attention.

If they just want attention, worked like a charm!
Actually testing their missile, not so great, but now they know it needs fixing.
Nuking North Korea risks retaliation. By fully operational missile hidden elsewhere; bomb smuggled on a containership from Japan, South Korea, or China; maybe smuggled to the US by submarine.
I would watch for now, eventually North & South Korea should form some
"Korean Union" or let South Korea run the whole place. China and Germany would be the best advisors how countries can re-combine.

its a show of force, sort of a "back-off world or else" kinda thing, I don't think they would try to attack any nation because they know well and true that the US and her allies would preasure the security council to act. And we all know what happens when that goes down. However, they are a communistic nation and most communistic nations have been known doing some pretty braindead things, so I can't tell for sure...

North korea are desperatley poor and want to be taken seriously in order to negotiate wealth for themselves; they are simpl playing the game, and I don't believe they have any intention of shooting a missile at anybody

Other than the fact that their leader is a nutcase, they are trying to prove an irrelevant point. No one gives a damn about NK, and they're pissed! Their "ally" Iran, is getting too much attention!

They are just trying to get money, it worked for them in the 90's, little kime spent it all on himself while the rest of his nation starved. I suggest we ignore him, or remove him from power.

It's just a show of force. If they really wanted to nuke anyone, they wouldn't tell you. First rule of war....never tell anyone that you're going to attack.
