The Cyclone at the Pacific Palisades,(as remembered by me)Looked a lot like the one at Coney Island in New York. I spent a lot of time on the beach in Long Beach,Calif. as a little girl, because my Mother worked out there as a maid ,and allowed me and my older brother to play on the beach during Summer months, well as a teenager at about 16 or 17 yrs.old I got up enough nerves to ride the Cyclone, it was a long ride and a scary one for me. Well I saw a documentary about Mr.Hershey, the chocolate candy bars manufacturer and owner, who also owned Coney Island Amusement Park in the early 1900`s or the late18oo`s? (not sure), from looking at that cyclone roller coaster at coney island in new york, and comparing the two I did`nt see much difference in length, heigth etc. but there seemed to be more space in coney as far as the size of the amusement
park, so it is possible that "cyclone" at coney could have been a bit longer than palisades cyclone, also the amusement park rides in coney caught fire and was rebuilt .this is just a little history.
