A period lasts about 3-7 days every month or just about. When you first start they will come a lot later or a lot early, but within a year it should become regular.

it shouldnt come back again for the next 26-28 days. A period stays with you forever ,but you should only get it 1 time a month. When you first start getting periods, they aren't usually regular. It'll take some time, but eventually they will/

Your first period is likely to occur between the ages of nine and 16. It usually lasts for three to seven days and then stops until the next period begins -- usually about 21 to 28 days after your period started. This time frame -- from the first day you begin to bleed until the first day of your NEXT menstrual period is called your "menstrual cycle."

During your menstrual cycle, one of your two ovaries releases one microscopic egg, called an ovum. (Your ovaries are reproductive organs approximately one and a half inches long and located in your lower abdomen, one on each side of your uterus; ovaries also release hormones that help to control your menstrual cycle.) The egg's release from the ovary is called "ovulation," and usually happens in the middle of your cycle -- around day 12 to 14 in a 28-day cycle. Ovulation can be irregular, though, when you first start having your period.

I think in the beginning I skipped a few months with nothing but a little spotting. If in a few years it's still irregular, see a doctor.

This is normal and you probably wont get it again this month. It my be irregular while your body is having hormone fluctuations but it will soon regulate on its own and you will know when to expect your period.

They will usually be 28 days apart and they will last between 3 and 7 days. Talk to your school nurse for more info if you do not want to talk to your family.
