I think this is a great question and I have no idea what the answer is. I do not think the world is going to come to an end. I do not think there will be an outbreak of people marrying animals. I do think that people who love each other and are already in committed relationships, regardless of their gender, are going to receive some of the benefits I enjoy because of my husband. I believe that people who believe homosexuality is immoral can still believe homosexuality is immoral. I also believe we can not limit a persons right to marry based on their sexual preference. What has been the effect of gay marriage on other countries who have legalized it? I haven't heard of homosexuals taking over any countries.

I think it would make our society even better. I'm straight but I believe that if marriage were also extended to Gays then there would be more equality in this country. No more would homosexuals have to be 2nd class citizens. Now, if a gay or lesbian couple love each other enough to where they see marriage in their futures, like heterosexuals, then they should have that glorious day just like us.
I am disgusted by individuals who believe that it's "God's" belief that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. I am also disgusted by individuals who believe that it would defile our society. I am disgusted by those who only cite their reason for not allowing homosexuals to get married is because of their religion. Get past your narrow-minded views on life and see life for what it really is! Love does not, has not, and will not discriminate. If heterosexuals can get married, homosexuals should be able to, also.

Life on Earth would be over. If gays can get married then soon it would be made legal to marry animals. After that more and more people will start to marry animals because of societies moral collapse and then if people marry animals how could they have children. With no children being born humans will go extinct before Jesus can come back to Earth and save us. This will all start if gays are allowed to get married. Do you really want this, to witness the downfall of all human life?

Marriages between homosexuals are all in vain, as the word marry means man and a woman to have children.
Other arrangements could be more proper than marriage, for a good recognition of their state of friendship by their governments.
Like being allowed for all benefits of welfare.

Aside from religion, legalizing homosexual marriage would allow spouse's of deceased to collect S.S. and other benefits thus further straining already overburdened programs. Yes, this will affect you with higher taxes.
Though many will deny it, there are health concerns with same sex couples ( these are also present in different sex couples but far more prevalent in same sex ones) and yes.this will affect you with higher insurance premiums.
Children of heterosexual couples are far more stable than those of homosexual couple according to studies.
And for those of us who believe the Bible......1st Corinthians 6:9 says it all.
For those who don't believe the Bible, if everyone were gay, mankind would die out in one generation.
Even the animals know better than this.

I personally think man and woman were meant to get married. I am not a hate person, I just believe God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. I think condoning perversion in the legal system will open door to further strange laws in the future. I may sound like a as*shole but thats just how I feel.

They also can use the privileges of married couples referring to taxes and social security, but not giving to the country what in return for the privileges is expected: growing up kids, who are future taxpayers.
For example in my country Germany it is that way: Income tax of a married couple is about 25% lower than would be, if they pay as singles. And in public health insurance the person with salary pays, and the one without income (as well as the kids) automatically is covered by the insurance without any payment.

Morality is relative to a person's upbringing. Have you ever noticed the ones who preach morality are the closet immorals? If two people (consenting adults) want to marry then why should we stop them? There are people who are against inter-racial marriages or inter-religious marriages and so on.

Gay and lesbian couples are permitted to marry in Massachusetts. The sky hasn't fallen, the birds are still chirping...
Families are united in an equal way. It's a great thing we have accomplished here. I wish every state would grant couples the same rights and opportunties.
