Mt Hood hasn't blown in about 200 years, and it's ready, along with other volcano activities with many other smaller mountains in the region. Mt. St. Helens is the most recent mountain that blew, back a couple of decades ago, and last year they thought it was gonna blow again, but it was just a few small eruptions. I would probably not buy a house near the mountains right now, unless your insurance company includes volcano coverage, which most don't, if any at all.
