Yeah, don't you get tired of people looking at you like an alien when you say you're an astrophysisicist? Maybe it's just the long name!
Anyways, I'm about ready to give up and just start telling people I'm a nurse or something so they'd stop telling me I must be so smart.
I agree, it's just the 4 (and ongoing) years of physics and astronomy.

I like it just fine. There aren't as many barriers for women in the sciences anymore. I've never been discriminated against, teased or discouraged from being an astronomer. The only downside is that most of the time when I say I am an astrophysicist people look at me and say "wow, you must be really smart". I'm not a genius, I've just been in school for a long time. :)
