i had both verizon has best connection.... cingulars big thing is rollover minutes but who dont use all their minutes big deal they get dropped calls too..

Verizon by far. I worked in the Cellphone Industry as an independent seller. Cingular is way overrated. Cingular has a problem that even if the phone shows a full signal bar they still drop calls and cut off a lot. Plus Cingular has questionable billing practices. But Cingular is still better than Sprint.

I have a friend who travels a lot and he told me Verizon has better signal coverage. So I got Verizon, and it has worked out well for me. I've never tried Cingular, so I can't compare them, but my friend is of the opinion that Verizon and AT&T are the only two wireless services worth considering. Since he's smarter than I am, I'm going to take his word for it.

I would go with Cingular. However, try both in the areas where you would visit most. Sometimes coverage is poor for one or the other in different areas.
Cingular, which bought AT&T's wireless network, before AT&T was bought by SBC, is far larger than Verizon's. By the way, Cingular will be changing its name to AT&T because SBC owned it and changed its name to AT&T.
It gets confusing, but soon there will be only two major phone companies, Verizon and AT&T, with AT&T being far larger and probably able to offer you better deals.

I have both, Verizon a work and cingular for personal.
don't see much differnce between the 2.
just look for the best plan.but only go with a 1 yesr contract

Where Im from here in NYC..
It depends on how you use your phone..
I mean for the convenience of it.. Simply because Both companies are great here in the city.. The only difference is Verizon is CDMA and Cingular is GSM..
CDMA is the old technology
GSM is the new technology
All over the world. The only countries that uses CDMA is Japan, South Korea, and US. But of course US use both..
Other countries all over the world uses GSM!
