you could have tried to make that more clear, seeing how it isnt clear if the additions/subtractions are part of the powers or not, but i say the answer is -5.
assuming the problem is ((-2)^3) + 2((-2)^2) - 2(-2) -9
do the powers first, so it becomes (-8) + 2(4) -2 (-2) -9
then do the multiplications, so its (-8) + 8 - (-4) - 9
-8 and +8 cancel out, so u get 0 - (-4) - 9
Subtracting a negative makes it positive, so u have 4 - 9
4 - 9 = -5

f(x) = x^3 + 2x^2 - 2x - 9
f(-2) = (-2)^3 + 2(-2)^2 - 2(-2) - 9
f(-2) = -8 + 2(4) + 4 - 9
f(-2) = -8 + 8 + 4 - 9
f(-2) = 4 - 9
f(-2) = -5

f(-2)=(-2)^3+2(-2)^2-2(-2)-9...... f(-2)= -8+8+4-9.........f(-2)= -5.......
-2f=-5.........f= -5:-2 .........f= 2,5
