Why do so many people ask questions here that they can search on the internet themselves?

I think that people might want an answer that they feel they can relate to. Like the other said, most answer on the internet are mainly just document. Some people like to see answers that came from others experience or want to find some fact/rumor that cannot be found on the internet. Some people might also wanted to see if they were the only thinking of such an answer.

Perhaps they are feel that getting the individual responses from people around the globe is much more intellegent than actual searching the internet for documented answers. Some questions I have noticed are more attempts to inflate egos than to find actual factual answers.

Some do it for the points, some do it 'cause they're bored and you have a lot of kids here out for summer vacation that probably shouldn't be on the internet in the first place.
