yes i think ppl are shallow, especially guys, for some reason guys seem to care more about looks than they could ever care about whats on the inside of a person. this is messed up, because you should care equally as much about the inside as the outside. i admit that i can be shallow at times we all can but we have ti try not to be, we will become better people if we all look into our hearts and see whats inside and not focus on what our eyes see.

Shallowness is inversely proportional to a persons own security.
The greater the security the less shallow. Shallowness being defined as not honest with others or themselves.
But to dig a little deeper, maybe these people are extraordinarily sensitive to global issues... to the point where they are overwhelmed and invite an ignorance is bliss policy. Atleast this is what i see happening as child matures to adult (by age).

People are perceived shallow only because other people have a pre-conceived notion on what is or what is not shallow. What may be shallow to some may not be to others.

I think we have gotten lazy. We have so much technology doing things for us--we have entertainment readily available (not just in our homes, but in all of our carry-along electronic gadgets)--that we no longer have to do much thinking. We aren't teaching kids to think in school.
The result of a lazy society in which people don't have to think about things is a bunch of people who are pretty shallow.

Honestly because being shallow takes a lot less effort than being deep. Think about it. ;)

People are shallow because they lack real life experience, or because they have experienced too much real life and it does not faze them.

Mostly because they don't have a good selfesteem; so they are looking for acceptance or looking for a way to make themselves feel better.....
Take it with a grain of salt, because you know the truth....stay in the fire fight and keep your head held high.

Because they are taught to be from a young age, which does not mean that people can`t change.

Society dictates what is beautiful (videos, movies, magazines etc) and these really distorts the vision of many, many who don't know exactly what they want. Beauty is only skin deep, understand what you want and go for it.
