surfside, miami. its warm year-round, its got a great beach as well as a pier, the restaurants are amazing, and its got great hotels (don't even think about a motel, though.. they're terrible). Also, There are many activities on the beach such as the community center (w/ a deli and pool) an excersize path that has exercize equipment every now and then, waterbiking, fishing on the pier, and the obvious: swimming, building sandcastles, sunbathing, etc.. Also, the beach is clothes/bathing suit optional, so you don't have to worry about the beach police giving you a hard time on that.

The West Coast, around Clearwater Beach, live there. Head over to Tampa, Ybor City. Take a drive to Fort DeSoto, a blue wave Beach, great.

With kids, definitely Disney or Universal. Without kids, Marco Island near Naples is beautiful. Key Biscayne near Miami is great, far enough from the big city, but close enough to everything. Lastly, Ponte Vedra Beach (north near Georgia) is unbelievable, but very pricey. If you have the money, it's worth every penny.

I just recently returned from my Florida vacation with my family and like everyone's saying...the KEYS!!! what a beautiful place to be especially if you charter your own jet to fly back to the mainland like we did..very beautiful waters..fun place to be at too

I love Cypress Cove Resort in Kissimmee, FL. Relaxation or tennis. Good food, great people.
Then there's Haulover Beach in the North Miami area for a good all-over tan. Just remember the sunscreen.

The keys are great if your into fishing, boating, snorkeling...there are not a lot of public "beaches". I'm not real into that kind of stuff, so I find other parts of Florida to be more fun.
