What are the possible side effects of Zoloft?
• Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: skin rash or hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
• Contact your doctor promptly if you have any of the following side effects, especially if they are new symptoms or if they get worse: mood changes, anxiety, panic attacks, trouble sleeping, irritability, agitation, aggressiveness, severe restlessness, mania (mental and/or physical hyperactivity), thoughts of suicide or hurting yourself.
• Call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
· seizure (convulsions);
· tremors, shivering, muscle stiffness or twitching;
· problems with balance or coordination; or
· agitation, confusion, sweating, fast heartbeat.
• Other less serious side effects are more likely to occur, such as:
· feeling nervous, restless, or unable to sit still;
· drowsiness, dizziness, weakness;
· sleep problems (insomnia);
· nausea, diarrhea, dry mouth, or changes in appetite or weight; or
· decreased sex drive, impotence, or difficulty having an orgasm.
• Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.

Talk to a psychologist and try to sort out the problems that are giving you anxiety in the first place. this is the more difficult route but in the end is better for you. Psych meds do not sort out your problems, they just help you forget them for a while.
If you still need them after intensive theapy, or if you have a medically affirmed chemical imbalance then take them responsibily. try to stay away from zoloft, as it has many side effects and messes severely with the seratonin uptake in the brain. This is a major problem when you need to come off them as you will have a massive lack of seratonin and will become more clinically depressed than before. too many people are on anti-depressants when they just need to sort thier stuff out. If you can do it the hard way, please do. It's better in the long run.

I would recommend talking to a registered pharmacist and your doctor. Call your nearest Walgreen's or Savon or other pharmacy and ask to speak to the pharmacist. They will answer your questions and you don't even have to tell them your name. Also, if you think you are having side effects talk to the doctor who prescribed these to you immediately. You want to make sure you stay healthy, especially if you are having some nasty side effects. In some people, especially young people, Zoloft has been reported to increase thoughts of suicide. Please seek help immediately.

I've been on it for 11 years. My biggest problem with it is memory loss. I have the memory of a piece of celery.
