I know how a turbo-charger works, how transmission works, how a car's engine and HEMI engine works, how clutches work, and how horsepower works! *Let me demonstrate my little knowledge to you, my dear audience or great fans:
When people talk about race cars or high-performance sports cars the topic of turbochargers usually comes up. They significantly boost and engine's HP, without increasing its weight, which makes turbos so popular! ( I also know about the wastegates, ceramic turbine blades and ball bearings...making the job better!)*
When I was small I once opened the hood of our car and wondered what the heck was going on in there...now I can be satisfied knowin basics, and perhaps a little too well, when it comes to my "baby"....bad or good? don't challenge me too much with your doubting questions, ok?

Both Turbo"chargers" and Super"chargers" are known as the "Forced Induction Systems"
The typical boost for BOTH is about 6 to 8 pounds per square inch(psi) the DIFFERENCE is its Power Supply- in a Supercharger there is a belt that connects directly to the engine: it gets its power the same way an alternator and water pump does. A Turbocharger, however gets it power from the Exhaust Stream- the exhaust runs through a "turbine"-which in turn spins the compressor (there are tradeoffs in both systems*) how about that, sir?

I am not even sure what you are asking, but if you simply want to know if it is bad or good that you know so much about cars, the answer is simple. It is good to know more about most things, and cars are no exception. I am a car guy and love them, though more from a historical and performance perspective than mechanical such as yourself.

That said, did you hear about the new motor VW has produced for sale in the MK V Golf in Europe? It is turbo AND super charged, with the two induction units tuned to work at different points in the power band. The effect of this is to increase performance out of a smaller motor (well, DUH!) but moreso to improve fuel efficiency.

I have a brother like you. Well read, with no schooling on the subjest. CAN BE DANGEROUS, because HE misses very SIMPLE things that MAKE A HUGE difference, sometimes.
Last Winter, JUST before it got below freezing for the winter months, I filled the batteries to within an inch of the top, with distilled water. HE went BEHIND me taking out the FLUID in our parents car batteries!! Even though DAD is a Mechanical/Chemical engineer, and said, Batteries need to be filled to within an inch. Brother said,"That's wrong."
Guess who had a battery die last winter?
You need the formal training, to hit on all cylinders!

I used to promote vehicle coverage in Massachusetts the position that is regulated by using the state, so this may be slightly diverse elsewhere. you've were given 2 aspects on your coverage: legal duty and resources. The legal duty covers people's injuries and resources in case you reason the wear and tear. So in case you run into yet another vehicle complete of people, or a parked empty vehicle or a pedestrian, your legal duty coverage pays for the medical charges or restore/change of resources. you've even were given coverage there when you're sued for something you supposedly reason except for actual damage (soreness, suffering etc.) the resources coverage is separate and covers your vehicle if that is damaged in diverse procedures. do not pay for this type of coverage in case your utilising round an old beater! Your excellent classification for 365 days will value more advantageous than the cost of the vehicle, and there is continuously a deductible (you may want to pay the first $500 or so for upkeep.) Collision coverage covers your vehicle when you're transferring and hit something (a pole case in factor) and complete coverage covers "acts of nature" type stuff like a fireplace or a rock hitting the vehicle on the line or hitting a deer. you ought to purchase coverage for further stuff like having roadside concepts or paying for a condominium vehicle if yours is interior the save after an twist of destiny. there is medical coverage for you that would connect an vehicle coverage, yet basically the vehicle coverage doesn't conceal if another coverage exists, and the medical rate must be almost about a vehicle twist of destiny.
