Acre is simply a measure of surface area. It can be a perfect square, an oval, or a long stretched out parcel of land. There is no shape associated with it.

However, I suppose that you are asking what a square with area of one acre would be. An acre is 1/640 of a square mile, which is
(5280^2)/640 = 43560 sq. feet. For a square, each side would be the square root of this, about 208.71 ft x 208.71 ft.

Hope that answers your question.

the dimensions would vary. If you are only talking about rectangles or squares, then the square (that with area of one acre) would give the minimal perimeter among rectangles and squares.
