we have a duk on our front lawn that has an injured wing or foot and a baby that wont follow it. animal control told us to get him under something like a crate utnil they come l8r, we cant manage to get the mom and the baby under the crate how do we do this!?!?!

If the ducks aren't too wild, maybe they would go into a crate/pet carrier if you put bread pieces in it? If not, try using a butterfly net (if the opening is large enough) to catch the baby, at least. If the mom is injured, catching it in the net might hurt it. . . .good luck!!

If you can't do it just keep an eye on the duck. You don't want to put it under undue stress. Maybe it will slow down soon and you will be able to capture it.

Boil some water. If things go South you can have soup. I'm sorry, that is in poor taste but I couldn't resist. I hope things work out OK.

put food out and keep her in the yard till animal control can get their-even if the duckling wont follow he probly wont get to far from her
