First, I think it depends on both partners (man & woman) if their chemistry complements each other and whether they are attracted to each other in a high level of affection from the beginning. If that is the case, then they would tend to get sincere and honest in their relationship to each other and become more bound to each other for a long time I guess. Such chance I feel is rare though (probably it happens to only 25% to 30% of the people).
If the above is not true, then dullness could overwhelm a relationship in marriage life. I think after a long while of having the same partner and knowing every bit of his/her treats, shape and habits, life becomes a sort of dull daily routine. I view it the same as eating the same meal every day, won't you get sick of eating cheese burger everyday?!
Of course doing things behind one's back without telling him/her is cheating pursuant to our culture's values. However, people tend to be cautious about breaking a long-live relationship that is bound by kids and/or some other interests, and that is why they tend not to be frank sometimes in order to preserve such interests. I think people should view relationship in much wider perspective than ownership. Getting married of one is not the same as owning a thing. People should practice more freedom in their love life and exchange romance and affection in a wider manner to relief themselves of stress, jealousy, tension and improve their styles. I think that people should just get their mind liberalized and in turn modernize their thinking in order to be more frank with each other and avoid situations that would be considered cheating in marriage.

I kind of did it out of retaliation. I found out about her affair. Several months into the separation, I decided to have my own. Not just one other woman. Four other women and counting. I guess I just had to prove something. That she didn't marry elephant man and what comes around goes around. Not really sorry at all. I'm getting a kick out of it.

wasnt what i wanted to have happen, i cant and wont take all the blame, i put 100% of myself into the marriage and got what she felt like doing, so, i dont see it as all my fault and even now, i would prefer it never happened and would like it "if i could turn back time" and change how things are now.NOBODY, MALE OR FEMALE WAKES UP ONE DAY AND JUST DECIDES TO GO AND GET SOME EXTRA,,,,,,,,

Men are not the only ones who cheat, honey! Why don't you ask the women the same question? On second thought, let's cut to the chase, why not ask your husband the REAL reason he cheated? What's missing in your relationship? I'll guarantee it ain't only sex................
