how does he float in the middle of the air?

I know that he uses paid "extras" to stand around and gawk with disbelief at some of his levitation gags... if you see it done on TV there's no way to know what's going on off camera... we assume there is no overhead crane lifting him because 'bystanders' do not go "What's the big deal there's a crane right there" pointing to a place the viewers at home cannot see. But I must say his illusions are very good and a little creepy.... kind of like this one:

He doesn't, it's all camera tricks and mirrors. When you see anything on TV, none of the participants or 'random' participants... ALL of them are in on the 'magic' and it's all a big show.

Look, if he could really levitate, then why doesn't he just go flying around the world and float to 100 feet up in the air... why just a few inches...

Magicians suck !!!

DarthFangNutts: haha dude, youre dumb.... 1st, Criss Angel did float from the top of one building to the top of another in a season 2 episode with nothing above him and tons of people below (ps, David Copperfield flew around on stage, went in a glass box, sealed it, floated 360 degrees in every which way, then flew out of the box off stage).... 2nd... mirrors, are you kidding me? thats one of the dumbest things ive heard... trust me, there are more easier and simplier ways then to use mirrors... 3rd... ONE of the ways he does it is this: his shoes have magnets in them, when he puts them together, they stick, and when he's turning around talking to people, he is secretly grabbing his right leg pant thing and opens it (its velcroed at the seams and he wears black tights underneath all the time) he sticks his right foot foward on a ledge or chair(notice how most of the time, the specatator is behind him and cannot see in front of him) he then just lifts himself up (since his pants are long and are held down by the shoes, and his shoes are connected by magnets, it seems like he floats up)... when he "lands", he quickly just puts his leg back into hit pants and shoes then just velcros the pants back together.... there you go, theres one way he does it, he also uses some other techniques....

Its probably some kind of trick, theres probably strings or something, but if there isn't any tricks behind it, well thats just cool.
